Entertaining Home Inspection Photos!

Over my many years of experience in both relocation and foreclosure assistance, I’ve come into contact with a long list of home inspectors and have seen my fair share of home inspection photos. I recently came across an entertaining article about home inspection photos on the Zillow Blog, and I just had to share!

Bent Outlet Cover

Well, I guess this is an interesting solution for when the cover plate just won’t fit in the allotted space!

Not Sure About this Common Vent…

If you know anything about water heaters, you know this is a big no-no.

Duct + Outlet = ???

This is actually the exhaust duct for the kitchen hood fan. We really couldn’t move the outlet? Wow, so lazy.

Optional Combustion Air

Air too fresh for you? This amazing invention allows the owner to manually turn off the combustion air being pumped into the furnace return plenum.

Two For One

You know that great combo faucet/sprayer that’s available? This isn’t it.

Porch Askew

Your computer screen isn’t broken, but this house sure is!

Leaves in the Attic

If the neighbors are upset about you dumping leaves in their yard, do NOT start dumping them in your attic.

Tangled Hoses

Somebody did a bang-up job of organizing these hoses!

Making it Fit!

I can just see how this went. “Toilet goes here, door goes here, open the door and… oops! Don’t worry, I know how to fix it!”

Medusa’s Junction Box

This looks like the product of a “bet” rather than a professional electrician job.

Thanks for the post, and I have to say that those pictures were fairly entertaining. And that makes me have a relief that my home inspection won’t be nearly as bad as any of the ones from those pictures.
