My House Has Been Hit by a Meteor!

meteor_strikeAs many of you know, a large meteor cruised across the skies of Russia a few weeks ago and wreaked havoc. The odds of this happening are apparently “astronomical”, pun definitely intended.

It was reported that several hundred people were injured by debris. In addition, photos showed several areas of heavy property damage.

So, does your homeowner insurance policy cover this? The answer is a resounding “yes”! The homeowner policy will respond and repair/rebuild whatever has been destroyed! Oh happy day!

The homeowner insurance policy is a very coverage comprehensive contract when it comes to the structure. As a matter of fact, there is a section in the policy called “Section 1 Losses Not Insured” which spells out exactly what the policy does not cover. These are things like, wear and tear, marring, scratching, deterioration, earth movement and flooding. Thankfully, things falling from the sky are not shown in this section!

Now, I am not sure how things work in Russia when it comes to insurance. However, I can tell you that in the good old USA, you don’t have anything to worry about if you have a homeowner insurance policy on your house.
